On 26-10-2015, the Central Government on the satisfaction that the public interest so requires declared the services in the ‘Manufacturing of Alumina and Aluminium’ and ‘Mining of Bauxite’ which are covered by item 30 and 31 of the First Schedule to the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (14 of 1947) to be a ‘Public Utility Service’ with immediate effect for a period of six months.
