The Board via notification dated 21st January, 2016 makes Authority for Advance Rulings (Procedure for Appointment as Chairman and Vice-Chairman) Rules, 2016. They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. Rule 2 deals with the definition of “Act”, “Chairman”and “Vice-Chairman”. Rule 3 and Rule 4 deals with Method of Appointment and Medical Fitness. Rule 3 which deals with method of appointment states that Vacancy shall be circulated through open advertisement and applicants shall be asked to forward complete application through Registrar of Supreme Court or High Court and there shall be a Selection Committee for for the purpose of appointment to the post of Chairman and Vice-Chairman.
