Mr. Mirza Saaib Beg, who was former President, Student Bar Council who is presently working with SEBI, Mumbai was on a cycling mission (from Mumbai to Pune to Hyderabad to Bangalore to Chennai to Kochi) to raise funds for financially weak students in premier law schools cycling 3,500 kms in 13 days with a noble objective to fund the education of 3-7 students per law school that they stop at.
The cycling team reached NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad from Mumbai today morning. A function was held in the University to mark the occasion. A cheque of Rs.6.00 lakhs was presented by Mr. Rajesh Narain Gupta, Managing Partner, SNG & Partners to the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Faizan Mustafa to be distributed among the financially weak but merit students. The Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor praised Mr. Mirza Saaib Beg for the noble initiative he has taken and stressed upon the need of the alumni to play a proactive role in supporting their juniors who are financially weak. Prof. Mustafa said that NALSAR is now producing socially relevant lawyers.
Prof. V. Balakista Reddy, Registrar of the University, Mr. Jaideep, President, Student Bar Council, students, faculty members were also present on the occasion.
