All but one cut by the CBFC quashed, Certificate to be issued to ‘Udta Punjab’

Bombay High Court: The latest operative order in the riveting courtroom face-off between the makers of the film Udta Punjab and the Central Board of Film Certification, partially allows the writ petition of Phantom Films pursuant to the prior Judgment of this Court.

To that effect, the decision of the CBFC is quashed and set aside, with the exception of one cut and an alteration in the disclaimer. The Respondents were directed to certify the film for viewing by Adult audiences. The prayer on behalf of the Respondents for stay of the Order was refused bearing in mind the investment for creation, promotion and exhibition urged by the counsel for the Petitioners.
