Concept Note: India Vision Foundation is a non-profit, voluntary, non-government organisation based in New Delhi. The Foundation focuses on empowering prison inmates and emphasizes the education of their children to ensure a better future and prevent re-offending. The aim of the organisation is thus to ‘Save the Next Victim’. The organisation is primarily working in following prisons of three states of India Uttar Pradesh (Dasna), Haryana (Faridabad, Gurgaon) & New Delhi (Tihar).
India Vision Foundation is touching more than 3000 lives every day and is striving to give a new hope in the lives of prison inmates and their children through positive reinforcement, education and values that not only help them to become responsible and conscientious citizens but empower them enough to become an asset to the society. The foundation has successfully reached out to more than 1,50,000 beneficiaries under Prison reforms and rural development project.
Speakers Bio: Ms Renu Nag has over 18 years of experience in the development sector. She successfully consolidated the Female Inmates and their children Projects in Gurgaon and initiated Faridabad and Dasna Prison Projects for female inmates. She previously worked with the female inmates of Tihar prison. Ms Nag has also facilitated various trainings of the Prison Officers of different states.
Mr Ravi Srivastava Is responsible for setting up project in Tihar, Gurgaon, Faridabad and Dasna Prisons for the male inmates. He is passionate about reforming youth offenders mainly with the therapies of art, craft, music and dance. He has had the honour to set up a dance group named “Hausla” of 10 released prison inmates and was recently was a part of initiating “Dhun Project of Sony Network Pvt. Ltd. in Gurgaon Prison.
