In conjunction with the commitment to strive the essence and excellence of Academic and Research integrity, NLUJAA in collaboration with TurnitIndia Education Pvt. Ltd organized a conclave on “Academic Integrity and Plagiarism” on 26th of September 2018 at the University premises.
With an esteemed assemblage of over 100 leading academicians and scholars from all over the North-East, the event turned out to be a massive success, asserting the urgent need to curb malpractices in research dynamics. Addressing the event, the Principal Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Govt of Assam Sri Maninder Singh assured affirmative collaborations on the part of the government and placed on record the administrative commitment in directing universities for adhering to anti-plagiarism rules issued by the UGC.
The discussion also witnessed intellectual deliberations by the likes of Prof. J.S. Patil, VC, NLUJAA, Prof. Gautam Barua, Director, IIIT, Gauhati, Prof Dhruba Kumar Bhattacharyya, Dean, Academic Affairs, Tezpur University, Prof. Sanjay Kumar Singh, Head, Dept. of Lib. & Info.Sc, Gauhati University, Dr. Topi Basar, Associate Professor of Law, NLUJAA and Dr. S.P. Singh, Vice Chancellor, Royal Global University. The technical nuances of policy making to achieve a culture of academic integrity along with an insight into anti-plagiarism tools and techniques was also presented by TurnitIndia Education Pvt. Ltd, the global leaders in anti-plagiarism software.
The Conclave ended with the vote of thanks delivered by Organising Secretary Dr. Kankana Baishya, Assistant Librarian, National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam.
