On the World Radio Day, Institute Social Responsibility Cell, Symbiosis Law School, NOIDA has organised an Interactive Session: SymVaani – Romancing the Radio on February 13, 2019.
About SymVaani:
SymVaani-Romancing the Radio is a peek into the soul of India. It is about passion, creativity, nostalgia and a million other things that go into the making of country’s collective conscience. More than anything else, though, it is the story of India. Through this initiative we aim to re-live the dream that is India and to hear it speak in a billion voices.
This World Radio Day, we bring together some of the stalwarts of the field to celebrate the medium as the voice of the people of this country, in line with UNESCO’s stated objectives behind the observance of this day.

Mr. Athar Saeed Graduated in Law from Rohilkhand University, Bareilly, Shiksha Visharad from Sahitya Sammelan, Allahabad, Ayurved Ratan from Sahitya Sammelan, Allahabad and Adeeb from Jamia Urdu University, Aligarh
Mr. Athar is actively involved in the art of performing voice-overs by providing voices to more than 100 Hollywood/Animation Films as Dubbing Artist, ANI (Asian News International), Discovery channel, History, Sasnkar, Satsang, DD Urdu and DD National, advertisements/documentaries, audio/visual cassettes and commercial spots for radio and television.
In the broadcasting world Mr. Athar is also known for his commentaries on national level for All India Radio on very special occasions like Republic Day and Independence Day, covering the popular sports commentaries like IPL, World Cup 2009 and other important sports events related to cricket.
One can also witness Mr. Athar’s presence in academics and the corporate world as an Anchor/Commentator/Drama Artist of NCERT’s Academic programs for Radio and Television and a film for PETRONET LNG Gas Ltd. Mr. Athar is also a senior journalist and is associated with Indraprastha University, Delhi, Jamia Millia Islamia, TMU and Amity University to take media classes. He also acted as a model in an ad film for SELVO Company.
As an anchor, Mr. Athar’s stint with ZEE TV Network resulted in different shows based on career, social and religious issues, hosted a celebrity show Baatein Mulaqatein, for DD Urdu, career based program, Naee Raahein Naee Manzilein, informative and communicative programme Insaaf ka Darwaaza for Doordarshan and Tandurusti Hazar Nemat, a health magazine for ETV Urdu.
Apart from Anchoring and hosting popular shows Mr. Athar also worked as a Script Writer for program Ek Haseen Pal that went on air on Bhopal Doordarshan. Mr. Athar is also a drama artist for Doordarshan, Commentary Speaker for Films Division, Assistant News Editor with DD News and an Anchor / Commentator/Narrator of Gyan Darshan TV channel of IGNOU/Doordarshan.
Mr. Athar is associated with All India Radio presenting programs on a wide range of topics since 1987. His voice is well recorded on Delhi Stations/National Channel/ESD/FM Channel of All India Radio, World Space Satellite Radio, FM Rainbow India, FM Gold channel, Vodafone radio, Urdu News on Radio, HUM FM in UAE, Gyan Vani Delhi, FM channel of IGNOU and as a Drama Artist for All India Radio.
Mr. Athar also serves in various government programmes like Virasat Mela, Punjabi Music Show at Delhi Haat by Punjabi Academy, Qawwali and Sufiyana concerts at Garden of Five Senses by Delhi Tourism, Jashn-e-Salaam by Zee Network in Hyderabad and Delhi, Azam Garh Festival at IIC in New Delhi, Shimla International Summer Festival and Conducted Quiz competitions at Urdu Academy, Delhi.
Mr. Athar was awarded with Shikhar Samman 2012 given by cricketer Virendra Sehwag for excellent achievements in media, Best Anchor Award by Zee Network (ZEE SALAM) in 2014, Awarded with National Youth Award.
Mr. Ashish Ddavidd, RJ, All India Radio, CEO, CBA’s Den, Independent & Self Employed
Mr. Ashish Ddavidd finished schooling from St. Columba’s School New Delhi, followed by graduation from Delhi College of Arts and Commerce and Post Grad in Film and TV Production.
Mr. Ashish worked as a Creative Head in a number of Production Houses in Delhi. Mr. Ashish also sung in numerous Rock Bands and Acapella Choirs. He has been doing Voice Overs for a good 14 years now. He has also been National Station Voice & Breakfast Jock for Delhi’s Radio City 91.1FM, besides 94.3 Radio one’s Drive Time Jock with 92.7 Big FM as their ‘Voice Of The Station’ for a 4th successfully running year. Also freelancing as a Voice over Artiste & looking forward to doing more creative, extensive and specialized Voice over Work.
Mr. Ashish is a multifaceted media personality! He has been working with Radio Stations at the position of National Station Voice and Radio Presenter since last 12 years. He has been professionally associated with brands like Radio City 91.1FM, 94.3 Radio One, 92.7 Big FM and 102.6FM Rainbow India.
Mr. Ashish has also been singing professionally and has been a part of many bands in the city such as Dr. Palash Sen’s Euphoria Band, Them Clones, Out Of The Blue and his current blues band Jive Can! Mr. Ashish also owns and runs his own Music Studio by the name of CBA’s Den where he records, mixes and masters Original Music of Bands and Singer Songwriters.
Dr. Sangeeta Rai, Assistant Professor, Miranda House, University of Delhi & RJ for FM Gold 100.1 MHz
Dr. Sangeeta Rai is working as part time RJ for FM Gold 100.1 MHz and a newsreader at D.D.NEWS.
Dr. Sangeeta did her graduation and masters in Hindi from Poorvanchal University, Jaunpur, UP, followed by M.Phil., Ph.D. in Hindi from University of Delhi. She also completed her BJMC and MJMC from Vardhman Mahaveer Open University, Kota and a Certificate and diploma course in Urdu from University of Delhi.
Before joining Miranda House College, New Delhi, Dr. Sangeeta has taught at various colleges and Universities of Delhi like Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Shyama Prasad Mukherji College, Daulat Ram College, Janki Devi Memorial College and Delhi College of Arts and Commerce.
Dr. Sangeeta served as editor of Bal-Patrika Killol, Assistant Research Scholar from National School of Drama, Delhi and contributed in their magazine Rang-Prasang.
Dr. Sangeeta also has various publications to her credit. To name a few- Chaiti Se Phagua Tak in Saamyeek Mimansa Patrika, Bhasha Ke Sath Poora Charitra, Poora Jeevan published in Aajkal Patrika, Kashi Me Kabi published in Sanchar E-Patrika, Cine Sur Aur Shayar Ke Geet published in Picture Plus Patrika, Presented paper at 8th Antarrashtriya Sahitya Avam Sanskriti Sammelan, Itli and the topic was Hindi Ke Vaishvikaran Ka Vartmaan.
Dr. Sangeeta recalls one of her best memories was an Interview with actor Ashutosh Rana, which was published in Outlook.
