Kudos to the Editors and the Publishers for taking, not one, but several leaves out of a popular blog. Marked for their clarity and brevity, the assortment of articles, on inter alia the developments in commercial, securities, competition and corporate laws will be a useful addition to any library. Vital aspects of law have been analysed in the context of the contemporaneous judicial and legislative developments; the issues identified; the areas of concern duly flagged; points of view canvassed – all in a way as to liberate the thought for further study and research. A discerning reader could pick several invaluable leads for his or her onward march.

The Reform Decade is indeed an apt title to what has been an incredible decade of developments, the likes of which India has not seen. And rightly so – as India finds its rightful place in the world economy and integrates.
Indian business culture and framework are changing dramatically. India is experiencing a great “reset”. We are moving from a relationship based society to a rules based framework. Complexities of technology and globalization are seeping in and adding new risks. We need to always be aware of what is changing and its impact on our business, professional and personal lives.
This scholarly work The Reform Decade is most timely. And is a must read for everyone following the Indian market. Having known Umakanth for over two decades, I expected nothing less than deep insights, lucidly explained. I also compliment the other contributors, who keep the same standard.
This work covers an incredible breadth of topics including company law, securities markets, corporate governance, insolvency, competition law, taxation and disputes. It is a tour de force and an extremely efficient way to catch-up on the critical insights over the last decade in one compact book.
I strongly recommend this work. Wishing the book great success.

We should all be grateful to Umakanth, Niranjan and Mihir for starting IndiaCorpLaw Blog and for encouraging contributions of the highest order through their own leadership and authorship. The Blog provides a special place for practitioners (both in-house and private practice), academics, students and, I hope, judges and policymakers, to find the latest and up to date analysis of current corporate law themes – produced with insight, learning and candour. These three special authors have now pulled together a tenth-anniversary edition book to commemorate some of the exceptional contributions to IndiaCorpLaw Blog over the last decade through carefully chosen themes. A book that can be read in its entirety or be used as an important resource to better understand specific developments in the law.
