National Law School of India (Amendment) Bill, 2020 passed — granting 25% reservation of seats to local students for admission at NLSIU, Bengaluru

Karnataka Legislative Assembly has passed the National Law School of India (Amendment) Bill, 2020.

In accordance to the above-said Bill, 25% reservation of seats will be given to the Local students.

Any aspirant who has studied in the state for 10 years will be eligible to apply for the 25 percent reservation for admissions to the law degree.

The said bill now has to pass the Legislative Council before it is presented to the State Governor for approval. National Law School of India (Amendment) Bill 2020 once it becomes a law will replace the National Law School of India act, 1986.
