HNLU Raipur | Webinar : Alma Matters- Lawyers, Social Entrepreneurship and Public Policy

Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur will be hosting the second edition of its alumni webinar series “Alma Matters” on 21st August 2020 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. The talk will be hosted on Webex.

Mr. Debanshu Mukherjee, a distinguished alumnus of HNLU who graduated in 2008 and who also served as the President of the Student Bar Association would be speaking on “Lawyers, Social Entrepreneurship and Public Policy”Al

Mr. Debanshu Mukherjee is the Co-Founder of the Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy where he leads its Corporate Law and Financial Regulation vertical. He completed his BCL from the University of Oxford. He was a recipient of the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship for his LLM at the Harvard Law School.  He has served as an advisor to the government on the design and drafting of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 and its subsequent implementation.

The Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy started operations in 2013 with a team of five lawyers. Today it is recognised as one India’s leading think-tanks in the policy space. The reports published by the Vidhi Centre are cited widely and have proved instrumental in shaping the public discourse on many areas in need of reform.

Vice Chancellor Prof. V.C. Vivekanandan will deliver the welcome address. He remarked that “Alma Matters will serve as an aspirational platform where the HNLU alumni will be sharing their experiential learning for the ‘future lawyers’. The ‘professional travelogue’ of their journey will be a worthwhile narrative on the diverse opportunities and responsibilities expected of the ‘future lawyer’ by the society”

The Digital@HNLU faculty team of Ms. Debmita Mondal, Mr. Ankit Awasthi. Mr. Jeevan Sagar, Mr. V. Surya Narayana Raju and Dr. Parvesh Kumar Rajput are sparing their best efforts for this programme and for such future programmes.
