Vasundhara Mehta, a third year student at Symbiosis Law School, Pune, had the honour of being a part of the official team to represent India in International Mediation Singapore, organised by Singapore International Mediation Institute (SIMI), which is a premier competition in the field of Alternate Dispute Resolution. It was held from October 30 – November 8, 2020.
She participated in the capacity of a Mediator and bagged the silver medal for her performance. Her qualification to the prestigious competition was automatic, as she had won the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law’s Mediation Competition securing the award of the Best Mediator in the Preliminary and Final Rounds, along with the Best Mediation Plan. The registration was thus sponsored by PACT India. Competing with 48 teams from 32 different nations was intellectually stimulating. The competition followed the Swiss Rounds System, wherein all the 5 rounds were compulsory for the teams. This meant more opportunity and scope to receive constructive feedback.
