On September 8, 2021, the Ministry of Textile has approved Production Linked Incentive Scheme for Textile for MMF Apparel, MMF Fabrics and 10 segments or products of Technical Textiles, approved for INR 10,683 Crore. The Scheme shall promote production of high value MMF Fabric, Garments and Technical Textiles in India.
According to the press release, the Scheme will also pave the way for participation of women in large numbers. The scheme will also positively impact especially States like Gujarat, UP, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, AP, Telangana, Odisha etc.
