The Ministry of Labour and Employment has made specific provisions of Employees State Insurance Act, 1948 applicable in more areas of Assam vide notification dated December 23, 2021.
Following provisions of Employees State Insurance Act, 1948 has come into force in the districts of Barpeta, Bongaigaon, Bishwanath, Cachar, Chirang, Darrang, Dhemaji, Dhubri, Golaghat, Goalpara, Lakhimpur, Majuli, Nalbari, Marigaon, Nagaon, Sibsagar, Udalguri, West Karbi Anglong, Karbi Anglong, Karimganj, South Salmara Mankachar in Assam:
- Sections 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43 and sections 45A to 45H Chapter IV: The chapter deals with the contribution made to the employee.
- Sections 46 to 73 of Chapter V: The chapter deals with Benefits provides to the employees covered under the Act.
- Sections 46 to 73 of Chapter VI: The chapter deals with adjudication of dispute and claims.
