About Us
The Indian Law Society’s Centre for Arbitration & Mediation (ILSCA) was established on 3rd December 2016 by the Governing Council of the Indian Law Society, Pune. This Centre is established with various purposes in mind:
- The main purpose of establishing the Centre is to provide facilities for holding ad-hoc arbitration and institutional arbitrations, both in domestic as well as International commercial arbitrations and mediations.
-
The Centre is also established for providing hands on experience to interested participants in learning the process of Arbitration and Mediation through various training programs.
We, at the ILSCA, seek to promote institutional arbitration and institutional mediation. Arbitration and Mediation as modes of dispute settlement, have gained immense popularity in the recent years. This calls for good training in the procedures and nuances of arbitration and Mediation not only for people in the legal fraternity, but also for people of other professions. ILSCA intends to bridge the gap between theory and practice through online training programmes, in both these areas, which are gaining great importance in the legal profession.
To this effect, we announce the first Online Training Program in Arbitration, Online Certificate Programme in Arbitration: Practice and Procedures.
About the Programme
This program aims to provide an outline as to how an arbitration proceeding is conducted and to aid a clear understanding of the law(s) governing arbitration in India. It also aims at making the participants aware of the recent developments in the arbitration law and helps them cope with the changes thus effectuated. The program has been designed for students as well as working professionals — not merely restricted to the field of law — to enhance their knowledge of the process and intricacies of arbitration in India.
