1st MNLUA National Youth Parliament, 2023

MNLUA is organizing its “1st National Youth Parliament, 2023” on the 8th and 9th of April, 2023 comprising of three major committees —NITI Aayog, Lok Sabha and National Security Council.

Details of Maharashtra National Law University, Aurangabad

The State of Maharashtra realising the importance of quality legal education and the need for well-trained law graduates to the Bar, Bench and profession took a very bold decision by creating three National Law Universities in the State of Maharashtra at Mumbai, Nagpur and Aurangabad.

Further, all three are independent and autonomous institutions created under the Maharashtra National Law University Act, 2014. The latest one added to the list of National Law Universities in India is the Maharashtra National Law University, Aurangabad, which commenced on March 16, 2017. The commencement of the University has fulfilled the aspirations of the people of the Marathwada region for an institution of national repute in Aurangabad.  

Details of Centre for Public Law

The Centre for Public Law, MNLUA was established in 2022 with the aim of disseminating thorough knowledge and developing critical thinking of Public Law among students. Its aim is to provide the students with the current trends and ongoing developments in the field of Public Law. This includes talks on policies and schemes of the executive, Bills passed by the Legislature, and the Judgements delivered by the Judiciary.

Details of National Youth Parliament

A Youth Parliament in essence is a stimulation of a Parliamentary session wherein the participants understand the parliamentary procedure and develop an insight into the working of the Parliament. The 1st MNLUA National Youth Parliament, 2023 will provide a platform for like-minded youngsters to come together and discuss some urgent contemporary issues facing the country and come up with possible solutions.

Committees and Agenda

  • Lok Sabha: Deliberation upon Electoral Reforms with special emphasis on Freedom of Speech and accountability during Elections.

  • National Security Council: Reviewing India's border relations along with maritime security and counterterrorism operations with special emphasis on India's Presidency over the G20 summit.

  • Niti Aayog: Reviewing the Indian Climate Change Commitment, and Infrastructure Development with special emphasis on the Indian G20 Presidency.

Maharashtra National Law University, Aurangabad, Nath Valley School Rd, Kanchanwadi, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Aurangabad, Maharashtra- 431005.

Eligibility

The following categories of students are eligible to register and participate:

  • Any bonafide full-time student enrolled in a degree programme in any college/ university/ institution

  • Students who have passed their 10th grade

General Guidelines

  • There will be individual participation.

  • Participants shall report for participation at the allotted time.

  • Participants are advised to be in formals. However, it would be appreciated to wear attire reserved for their constituency to give a better and more effective platform.

  • Participants may use bilingual language during their speech.

  • Portfolios would be allotted according to the previous experiences of each participant.

  • There is no limitation on the number of participations from one institute (i.e. any number of students can participate from one institute).

  • The organising committee reserves the right to adopt suitable procedures and changes as and when required and the decision of the EB should be final and conclusive. No grievance with respect to their decision will be entertained.

  • Participants creating any kind of indiscipline shall be disqualified at the discretion of the judges.

  • Participants thereby should adhere to the rules and regulations of the event.
