Himachal Pradesh High Court: In an appeal concerning the change of date of birth in service book, Sanjay Karol, J, relying on previous Supreme Court judgments held that any changes in change of date of birth should be done within a reasonable time as that the date of change of birth of an employee not only affects him but affects the persons who are due for promotion and any change made at a belated stage will affect their service prospective. In the present case the appellant was born in the 1952, whereas, his date of birth was registered as 1947 in the service record. Undisputedly service record of the plaintiff was prepared in the year 2002 and till the time of filing of suit, in the year 2009, he did not raise any objection with respect thereto. The Court held that the ratios of the previous judgments are squarely applicable and thus the appeal was entitled to be dismissed. Sh. Prabhu Ram v.
