On 31-12-2014, the Central Government made the Coinage of One Hundred Rupees and Ten Rupees coins to commemorate the occasion of “Centenary Commemoration of Mahatma Gandhi’s Return from South Africa” Rules, 2014, which states that One Hundred Rupees and Ten Rupees denominations shall be coined at the Mint for issue under the authority of the Central Government to commemorate the occasion of “Centenary Commemoration of Mahatma Gandhi’s Return from South Africa”. The Rules also specify the dimension, composition, design, standard weight and remedy allowed in making of such coins.
