Constitution (Scheduled Castes) Orders (Amendment) Act, 2015 received the assent of the President on 20-03-2015. The objective of the Act is to further amend the Constitution (Scheduled Castes) Order, 1950 in order to modify the list of Scheduled Castes in the States of Haryana, Karnataka and Odisha and the Constitution (Dadra and Nagar Haveli) Scheduled Castes Order, 1962.
The Act amends the Schedule to the Constitution (Scheduled Castes) Order, 1950 as follows-
- In Part V- Haryana- substitutes entry 19 as –
“19. Kabirpanthi, Julaha, Kabirpanthi Julaha”
- In Part VII- Karnataka- substitutes entry 23 as-
“23. Bhovi, Od, Odde, Vaddar, Waddar, Voddar, Woddar, Bovi (NonBesta), Kalluvaddar, Mannuvaddar”
- In Part XIII- Odisha- substitutes entries 26, 27, 44, 45, 46 and 91 as-
“26. Dhoba, Dhobi, Rajak, Rajaka”
“27. Dom, Dombo, Duria Dom, Adhuria Dom, Adhuria Domb”
“44. Katia, Khatia”
“45. Kela, Sapua Kela, Nalua Kela, Sabakhia Kela, Matia Kela, Gaudia Kela”
“46. Khadala, Khadal, Khodal”
“91. Turi, Betra”
- In Part XXIV- Uttaranchal- substitutes “Uttarakhand” for “Uttaranchal”
The Act amends the Schedule to the Constitution (Dadra and Nagar Haveli) Scheduled Castes Order, 1962 as follows-
