Gujarat National Law University held its 7th Convocation on 27th February 2016. 157 LLB students and 37 LLM students of 2015 batch were awarded degrees .Three PhD Scholars were also awarded with their PhD degree. Gold medals were also awarded to 17 meritorious students in various subjects.
The ceremony was marked with the presence of Justice Abhay Manohar Sapre, Judge Supreme Court, Justice R. Subbash Reddy, Chief Justice, Gujarat High Court, Mr. K. K. Venugopal, Senior advocate, Supreme Court, along with the General Council of the college and few other dignitaries.
The students were given degrees by Justice Sapre in the presence of their parents and faculty members. Director Prof. Dr. Bimal N. Patel presented the annual report of year 2015 along with the achievements made by GNLU in various fields.
The Chief Guest for the event was Mr. K. K. Venugopal, an eminent lawyer of India and also a Padma Vibhushan awardee .He appreciated the efforts of GNLU in providing world class facilities to the budding lawyers. He compared his days as a law student with today’s scenario. In his speech he urged young lawyers to do substantive work for the society. He also appreciated GNLU’s efforts in undertaking pro-bono work and expected great outcomes out of it. The convocation was declared closed by Justice Sapre.
