National Law University Delhi in association with Ruhr Universität Bochum, Humboldt Universität zu Berlin, and Universität Hamburg Berlin is organizing a two day conference on the theme ‘Open Markets, Free Trade and Sustainable Development – Friends or Foes.’ from 13th to 15th March 2016. The conference will feature presentations by scholars from Germany and India exploring potential synergies and dichotomies between open markets and free trade on the one hand and sustainable development policies on the other. The expected outcome of the conference is not only a critical analysis of the relevant socio-legal framework, but also generation of potential policy options on market liberalization, free trade enhancement, and strengthening of development policies and cooperation.
