Supreme Court: The bench of Dipak Misra and Shiva Kirti Singh, JJ came down heavily upon the Institutions admitting the students without having necessary affiliation, terming such act to be a disastrous phenomenon. The Court was hearing the appeal by the appellant Institution who had admitted students even after the expiration of it’s temporary affiliation.
Referring to the various judgments where this Court had deprecated the practice of educational institutions admitting the students without requisite recognition or affiliation taking into account the career of innocent children who have fallen in the hands of the mischievous designated school authorities, the Court observed that the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University shall consider the application for affiliation, if not considered already, within a span of four weeks and, if the affiliation is granted, the students who had been granted admission shall be treated as students as admitted for the academic session which would be covered by the affiliation to be granted in future. The Court also directed that the appellant College would not be in a position to admit any other student after affiliation is granted. [Committee of Management Anuragi Devi Degree College v.
