High Court of United Kingdom: An enforcement order has been passed favoring the 13 Indian banks and granting permission to the UK High Court Enforcement Officer to enter Vijay Mallya’s properties in Hertfordshire, near London.
The enforcement order rules in favor of the 13 Indian banks seeking to recover funds from Mallya. Therefore, it is one of the options placed for the banks to use as one of the means to recover funds.
The order further states that “The High Court Enforcement officer, including any enforcement agent acting under his authority, may use reasonable force to enter the property if necessary”. Though, it has been reported that Mallya has made an application in the Court of Appeal seeking permission to appeal against the order, which remains pending.
