The 4th SLCU National Trial Advocacy & Judgement Writing Competition 2019 was conducted by the Advanced Criminal Law Studies Committee of School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) from 31 January 2019 – 1 February 2019.
The event was conducted over a period of three days having preliminary rounds, quarter-final round, semi-final round and the final round. The competition witnessed 20 law colleges across the nation take part in it. The problem for this year’s competition was based on the Karnataka Police Act and the Indian Penal Code, 1860. The problem was drafted in a manner which tested the abilities of the teams with respect to law and procedure.
Inauguration:
The inauguration of the 4th SLCU National Trial Advocacy & Judgement Writing Competition was conducted on 31 January 2019 was graced by Mr Brijesh Singh, Advocate, High Court of Karnataka.

Final Rounds:
The Final Round of the competition was judged by a panel of judges comprising of Hon’ble Mr Justice Budihal R B, Former Judge, High Court of Karnataka, Shri S R Somashekara, Former Principal & Sessions Judge, Bengaluru Rural District, Shri I S Antin, Former Principal & Sessions Judge, Shivamogga & Special Sessions Judge, CBI, Bengaluru.
