The Centre for Competition Law and Policy (CCLP) and the Centre for Studies in  Banking and Finance (CSBF) at  National Law University, Jodhpur (NLUJ)  are collectively organizing a one-day  panel discussion on the theme “Banking  Sector at the cross-roads of Disruption: Competition Law perspective”.  The panel discussion shall be held on March  30, 2019 at NLUJ.

Structure of  the Panel Discussion:
The Panel Discussion will be divided into two sessions with  respective panellists, drawing from a diverse pool of academics, regulators and  practitioners on the following themes:

Panel I –  Competition Law in the Banking Sector

  • Cusp  of Consolidation: Competition Scrutiny of Bank Mergers;
  • Fintech:  A Driver of ‘Competition’ in the Banking Industry;
  • Delineation  of relevant market in cases involving the service of providing particular  loans.

Panel II –  Recent Trends in Competition Law

  • A  Review of Competition Jurisprudence in 2018;
  • Big  data and competition law;
  • Structural  v. Behavioural Remedies;
  • CCI  approval timelines in IBC cases.

Registration  Details
The Panel Discussion is open to external participation from  law-students of other institutions. External participants who are willing to  attend the Panel Discussion are firstly required to send a detailed version of  their Curriculum Vitae and contact details at mailto:centerforbanking@nlujodhpur.ac.inby March 20, 2019. On the  basis of academic credentials and past internship experiences, the participants  shall be intimated of their selection to attend the Panel Discussion. Selected  participants are requested to deposit INR 1000/- towards their registration for  the Panel Discussion. The registration cost is inclusive of food and  accommodation.
