As reported by media, the Supreme Court of Arizona unanimously with a majority of 7-0 decided that the Arizona Medical Marijuana Act clearly allows cannabis extracts.
Medical marijuana patients are protected from arrest for possessing cannabis extracts as long as they don’t have more of the drug than allowed.
The case stems from the 2016 conviction of medical marijuana patient Rodney Jones, who was sentenced to jail time for possessing cannabis concentrates that he had purchased from a licensed dispensary. The decision vacates his conviction and sentence and also makes clear that medical marijuana patients in the state are allowed to use cannabis extracts.
