As reported by ANI, Division Bench comprising of Ranjit More and Bharti Dangre, JJ. will pronounce the Judgment on Maratha Reservation on 27-03-2019.
The Judgment was reserved after hearing the petitions on 26-03-2019.
Background:
In accordance with the amendment in Socially Economically Backward Class (SEBC) Act, 2018, 16% reservation was provided to the students belonging to the Maratha community for admissions to PG Courses in medical colleges.
Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court had rejected a plea against the state government’s ordinance to retain 16% reservation for Marathas under the socially and educationally backward classes (SEBC) category in post-graduate medical and dental courses.
