The Legal Aid and Awareness Committee (LAAC), National Law University, Jodhpur with the aim of acquainting the common man with the intricacies associated with the subject of law, organized the third edition of “LEX QUEST”, an Inter-School Quiz Competition, for the students of Jodhpur. The motive behind this drive was to inculcate an interest amongst young, enthusiastic and aspiring school going students. The participants, for reference, regarding the nature of the quiz, were provided with a book “Juris Liber” which has been prepared by the members of Committee. The Competition was divided into two phases. The respective schools participated in the preliminary rounds from 21 to 23 August, 2019 and the final rounds of the competition were organized on 8th September, 2019 in the National Law University, Jodhpur wherein to most team from each school was invited to showcase their legal knowledge and aptitude.
The competition witnessed the participation of over 250 students ranging in their academic sensibilities from classes IXth to XIIth. The answer sheets were evaluated within the college premises, by the members of the Committee itself.
The knowledge of the students was tested on the basis of legal parameters, including topics concerned with the area ofcurrent as well as static knowledge.Finally, Shri Aurobindo School retained the title as the winner of Lex Quest 3.0. The second prize was bagged by Kendriya Vidyalaya School.The third prize of the Competition was bagged by the team from St. Austin School. The winners were felicitated by Dr. Anjali Thanvi (Chairperson of LAAC) with mementos, merit-certificates and cash prizes worth Rs 5000. Dr. Anjali Thanvi and Mr. Rohan Thomas also addressed the students and spoke some valuable words of encouragement.
The Competition emerged as a great sensitizing instrument for the upcoming generations, who will lay the foundation of future legal activism in the country and will act as the stalwart supporter of the cause of the Committee.
