Ministry of Labour and Employment extends validity for licenses granted under the Contract Labour (R&A) Act, 1970 and the ISMW (RECS) Act, 1979 whose renewal fell or shall fall in the months of March, April, May and June, 2020 upto 30th Junes, 2020 due to continuous COVID-19 lockdown during the extended period.
Thus in view of the above, necessary amendment in the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Central Rules, 1971 and the Inter State Migrant Workmen (RE and CS) Central Rules 1980 may be made as one time exception for delayed renewal of licenses.
