The Government of Karnataka has notified the Karnataka Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Rules, 2021 to further amend the Karnataka Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989 vide notification dated 31st October 2021.
The amendment substitutes Rule 33 which deals with registering authority: The Registering Authority shall be any Officer appointed or empowered by the Commissioner.
The Commissioner may empower a dealer holding valid trade certificate as Registering Authority subject to such terms and conditions that may be specified from time to time for the purpose of registration of non-transport vehicles and fully built Transport Vehicles on first sale.
