The Lt. Governor of National Capital Territory of Delhi has notified Delhi Maintenance and Management of Parking Places (First Amendment) Rules, 2022 which provides provides power to the Commissioner of Transport to waive off/reduce the parking/custody charges by general or specific order for certain categories of vehicles.
The Amendment inserts second proviso in Rule 16 which deals with Towing of Charges.
“Provided that the Commissioner of Transport may waive off/reduce the parking/custody charges by general or specific order in respect of the categories of vehicles mentioned in Rule 16 of above said rules.”
The Category of vehicles mentioned in Rule 16 are as follows:
- Two wheeler / TSR/ E-Rickshaw;
- Light passenger vehicle (Car, Jeep, Van etc.);
- Light Goods Vehicle;
- Medium passenger vehicle; Heavy passenger vehicle; Medium goods vehicle; Heavy goods vehicle.
- Multi axle trailers.
