ABOUT CHRIST (DEEMED TO BE UNIVERSITY)
CHRIST (Deemed to be University) was born out of the educational vision of St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara, an educationist and social reformer of the nineteenth century in South India. He founded the first Catholic indigenous congregation, Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI), in 1831, which administers CHRIST (Deemed to be University).
About the NTAC
The 8th Edition of National Trial Advocacy and Judgment Writing Competition, 2022 – 23 of School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bangalore is conducted for the purpose of nurturing and creating opportunities for the development of the skills in litigation, evidence establishment, and examination in the Trial Courts. The Competition includes a Judgment Writing Competition, which enhances the reasoning and writing skills of budding lawyers and students aspiring to opt for a career in the judiciary. The Competition shall be open for all students who are pursuing a three or five-year LL.B. Degree Course in any Universities/Colleges/Law Departments in India, as recognized by the Bar Council of India.
In its previous edition, NTAC has witnessed participants from law schools across the country and has successfully contributed to the promotion of a trial culture and criminal litigation. The Advanced Criminal Law Studies Committee organized the competition for 24 teams in our last edition and are expecting more participants this year. NTAC prides itself on being a one-of-a-kind trial experience that helps in honing one's research skills, and overall prowess of courtroom etiquette.
It will be conducted from 23rd to 25th February 2023 and will be completely offline. In the previous 7 editions, NTAC has witnessed participants from law schools across the country and has successfully contributed to the promotion of a trial culture and criminal litigation. NTAC prides itself on being a one-of-a-kind trial experience that helps in honing one ' s research skills, and overall prowess of courtroom etiquette. This prestigious event has brought together multiple skilled teams from all over the country to compete in court halls which have witnessed some of the best Trial Advocacy Competitions.
INSTRUCTIONS AND PROCEDURE FOR REGISTRATION
Eligibility The Competition is open for all students who are pursuing a three-year or five-year Law Degree Course in Universities/Colleges/Law Departments in India, as recognized by the Bar Council of India. The Participants should send a picture of their University ID Card for verification.
Venue
The 8th National Trial Advocacy and Judgment Writing Competition 2022-23 shall be held from 23rd to 25th February 2023 in CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bangalore Central Campus. It will be held offline.
Procedure for Registration
Participation in the 8th SLCU National Trial Advocacy and Judgment Writing Competition is restricted to 24 teams only. Institutions/Teams interested in participating in the Competition will have to provisionally register by sending an email to criminallaw.committee@law.christuniversity.in and only after confirmation of a provisional slot by the Organizers, should they complete the formalities of the final registration.
The slots shall be reserved based on a ‘first come ' basis for the first 24 teams.
Registration Fees
Registration Fees per team, exclusive of accommodation: INR 2500 Registration
Fees per team inclusive of accommodation: 2500 + 6750 (2250 per day for one room) = INR 9,250
Accommodation is optional.
