About HPNLU, Shimla
The Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU) is an autonomous law university in India located in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. It was established by an Act of the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha in the year 2016 (Act 16 of 2016). Under the academic and administrative leadership of the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Nishtha Jaswal, the team HPNLU is committed to achieve new heights in legal education while proactively organising plethora of events, spreading sociolegal awareness through discussions on Fundamental Duties, Environmental Issues, Human Rights and Access to Justice, etc.
About the CENTRE FOR ENVIRONMENT AND DISASTER MANAGEMENT
Centre for Environment and Disaster Management (CEDM) is a specialized Centre of Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla, for conducting socio-legal research in the field of environment protection & disaster management. The Centre aims to serve as a research and training centre in the field of environmental law and policy and other environmental awareness. Centre, since its inception, has conducted various programmes such as webinar on “Contemporary Environmental Law in Covid-19 Crisis”, “Virtual Environmental Conclave”, “National Essay Writing Competition”, “National Photography Competition”, “E-Colloquium on Bhopal Gas Disaster”, “Kedar Nath Disaster” and certain special lectures regarding the same. The Centre has its own online journal “HPNLU Journal of Environment and Disaster Management (JEDM) (ISSN: 2583-1429). The Centre also publishes its own Green Gazette newsletter and its book.
About the CEDM International Conference
The conference aim at analysing and facilitating a deeper understanding of the environmental rule of law, policies, and various national and international regime as well as role of courts in addressing the challenges that the world is facing and may face in the foreseeable-future in national and international scenario pertaining to the environment. The International Conference, thus, would deliberate on the need to analyse and understand how “Environmental Rule of Law” can bring Environmental Justice.
CALL FOR PAPERS
Academicians (including faculty members, research scholars, and students), Professionals from legal and non-legal fraternities, and Environment Officials across the globe are invited to contribute to the conference by submitting research paper(s)/article(s) and case studies. The selected papers from the International Conference will be featured in online HPNLU Journal on Environment and Disaster Management (JEDM) with ISSN: (2583-1429). Co-authorship is allowed up to 2 persons only.
